感恩节是美国人民独创的一个古老节日，也是美国人合家欢聚的节日。它的由来要一直追溯到美国历史的发端。满受宗教迫害的清教徒在印第安人的帮助下，终于获得了丰收，在欢庆丰收的日子，按照宗教传统习俗，移民规定了感谢上帝的日子，并决定为感谢印第安人的真诚帮助，邀请他们一同庆祝节日。

Thanksgiving Day is an ancient festival of America. It is a national holiday for American's family reunion.With help from the Indians, finally obtained the harvest,  immigration rules the day of Thanksgiving to god, and decided to thank the Indians’ sincere help, inviting them to celebrate the festival together.

加拿大感恩节的庆祝活动是在十月的第二个星期一。与美国人缅怀清教徒先辈定居新大陆的传统不同，加拿大人主要感谢上天给予的成功的收获。

Canadians celebrate Thanksgiving on the second Monday in Octber.  Canadian give thanks mainly for the harvest of success.

感恩节的庆祝模式许多年来从未改变。丰盛的家宴早在几个月之前就开始着手准备。人们在餐桌上可以吃到苹果、桔子、栗子、胡桃和葡萄，还有葡萄干 布丁、碎肉馅饼、各种其他食物以及红莓苔汁和鲜果汁，其中最妙和最吸引人的大菜是烤火鸡和南瓜馅饼，这些菜一直是感恩节中最富于传统和最受人喜爱的食品。

The pattern of the Thanksgiving celebration has never changed for many years. A big family dinner is planned to start as early as a few months ago. At the dinner table, people will find apples, oranges, chestnuts, walnuts and grapes, and plum pudding,  mince pie, other varieties of food and cranberry juice moss and fresh fruit juice, one of the most wonderful and the most attractive dinner is roast Turkey and pumpkin pie, these dishes are always the most abound traditional Thanksgiving and the most popular food.

感恩节宴会后，有些家庭还常常做些传统游戏。第一次感恩节，人们进行了跳舞、比赛等许多娱乐活动，其中有些“滚南瓜”一直流传至今。

After Thanksgiving dinner, some families usually play traditional games. During the first Thanksgiving, people danced, played games and did many other entertainment activities.

对于孩子来说，知道感谢，怀有一颗感恩之心是很必要的 ，在这样的一个特殊的日子里，我们希望CIEO的所有学生，能够学会感恩自己的父母，感谢身边帮助过自己的人，做一个心怀感恩之人。

It is important and necessary for children to have a feeling of gratitude. In such a special day, we hope all the CIEO students can learn to express their gratitude to parents and those who helped them.
